I work with most luxury cruise lines across five categories. Each one earns its place because it does something specific better than its peers.

Ocean Cruising

For travelers who want longer itineraries, more destinations per trip, and the comfort of a full-service ship at sea.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises — the most all-inclusive ultra-luxury ocean line. Free unlimited shore excursions, free business-class air on most itineraries, butler service in higher categories. Best for travelers who want a polished, traditional luxury feel.

Silversea — small-ship luxury with global itineraries and the strongest shore program of any ocean line outside Regent. Better than Regent on destination immersion. Owned by Royal Caribbean, which has invested heavily in the product. Best for experienced cruisers who care about ports more than ship amenities.

Explora Journeys — the newest entrant in the luxury ocean category, launched in 2023 by the MSC family. Modern design, ocean-focused itineraries, all-suite ships. Best for travelers who find Regent and Silversea too traditional and want something contemporary.

Viking Ocean — destination-focused ocean cruising at a meaningfully lower price point than Regent or Silversea. Identical 930-guest ships, adults-only, and the strongest enrichment program in the category. Best for first-time luxury ocean cruisers and those who want value without compromise.

River Cruising

For travelers who want Europe (or Egypt, or the Mekong) without unpacking. River cruising puts you in the center of every city instead of a deepwater port outside it.

Viking River — the world's largest river cruise line and the safest first choice for new river cruisers. Consistent product, broad itinerary access, and the strongest enrichment program in the category. Best for first-time river cruisers and couples.

AmaWaterways — more excursion variety, active programming, and stronger food and wine than Viking. Has connecting cabins (Viking does not). Best for repeat river cruisers, active travelers, and family groups that need connecting rooms.

Tauck — fully inclusive small-ship river cruising. 130 guests on the same size of ship that Viking fills with 190. Multiple cruise directors per sailing. The only major river line with a true family program (Tauck Bridges). Best for experienced travelers who want everything included.

Expedition Cruising

For travelers who want to go where ocean ships cannot — Antarctica, the Arctic, the Galápagos, the Amazon, the Kimberley.

Ponant — French-flagged expedition yachts with the strongest design sensibility in the category. Small ships (under 250 guests), serious culinary program, polar and tropical itineraries. Best for travelers who want expedition with European luxury polish.

National Geographic / Lindblad Expeditions — the most credentialed naturalist and photography program in expedition cruising. Onboard staff includes National Geographic photographers and expedition leaders. Best for clients who care about the science, the wildlife, and the learning more than the ship itself.

Aqua Expeditions — boutique expedition cruising on the Amazon (Peru), the Mekong, East Indonesia, and the Galápagos. Suites only, exceptional food, intimate ships of 16 to 40 guests. Best for clients who want true expedition in remote waterways without the large-ship feel.

Yacht Cruising

For travelers who want the smallest, most personalized experience at sea. Yacht cruises operate with under 300 guests and access ports the big ships cannot reach.

Four Seasons Yachts — the Four Seasons standard at sea. Launched in early 2026 with the Four Seasons I, a 95-suite yacht built around the brand's signature service model. Best for Four Seasons devotees and travelers who want hotel-grade service on a small ship.

Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection — three small yachts (Evrima, Ilma, and Luminara) carrying 300 to 450 guests, designed for Ritz-Carlton's hotel clientele. Marina platforms for water sports, all-suite accommodations, and ports that big ships skip. Best for Ritz-Carlton loyalists and yacht-style luxury seekers.

Family-Focused Cruising

For multigenerational trips and family travel where the cruise itself is the destination.

Disney Cruise Line — I book Disney for my family clients, and recommend the Concierge program, which provides a dedicated pre-cruise team, priority access to onboard reservations, and exclusive Concierge-only spaces on the ship. Best for families who want a luxury-tier Disney experience that delivers across age ranges.
