Airelles Palladio Venice: My Guide to Venice’s New Luxury Hotel for Families

Venice with kids can be magical right up until about 3 p.m.

You’ve walked for hours. Everyone’s hot. Someone’s asking for gelato again. You’ve crossed twelve bridges since lunch and you’re beginning to wonder whether your children need to see one more church.

Now imagine getting on a boat, crossing the lagoon and coming back to a hotel with almost an acre of gardens, three swimming pools and a kids club.

That’s why Airelles Palladio immediately caught my attention.

The hotel opened in 2026 on Giudecca as Airelles’ first property outside France. It has only 45 rooms and suites spread across historic buildings, but it operates much more like an urban resort than a traditional Venice hotel. For families, I think that could be a game changer.

IS AIRELLES PALLADIO GOOD FOR FAMILIES?

Absolutely.

The thing that makes Palladio so unusual isn’t simply that it welcomes children. Plenty of Venice hotels do.

It’s that after spending the morning exploring Venice, you can come back and actually have a resort afternoon.

There’s a heated outdoor pool in the gardens, a separate children’s pool reserved for younger guests and an indoor pool within the spa. The hotel also has a dedicated kids club with its own programming.

You can spend the morning in St. Mark’s Square, wander through Venice, have lunch somewhere wonderful, then take the short boat ride back across the lagoon.

The kids go swimming.

You go to the spa.

Everyone gets a break.

That’s a very different Venice vacation.

WHERE IS AIRELLES PALLADIO?

Palladio is on Giudecca, directly across the lagoon from central Venice.

For some travelers, Giudecca can initially sound less convenient than staying right around St. Mark’s. I actually think the location is one of the reasons Palladio works.

You’re only a short boat ride from the center of Venice, but when you return to the hotel, you leave the crowds behind. Travel + Leisure puts St. Mark’s at roughly a three-minute boat ride from the property.

And instead of stepping off a busy Venetian street into a hotel lobby, you’re coming back to gardens, pools and space.

Especially with children, that tradeoff makes a lot of sense to me.

WHAT’S INCLUDED AT AIRELLES PALLADIO?

Airelles’ generosity is very much part of Palladio too, and follows the same unusually generous approach you’ll find throughout the Airelles collection.

Current room inclusions include breakfast, the sweet and savory minibar, packing and unpacking, and selected standard laundry up to ten pieces per day.

Guests also receive access to the Airelles Spa by Guerlain, hot drinks and selected nonalcoholic drinks around the pools, complimentary kids club access and a program of included experiences and activities.

That matters more than it may sound.

You’re already paying for one of Venice’s top luxury hotels. It’s nice to feel like the hotel is looking for ways to take care of you rather than looking for additional ways to charge you.

WHAT’S THE SPA LIKE?

Airelles Palladio has a 1,700-square-meter Guerlain spa spread across three floors, which the hotel describes as the largest spa in Venice.

Again, think about what that does to a Venice trip.

You don’t need every day to be a full sightseeing day. One parent can take the kids to the pool while the other goes to the spa. Everyone can come back for a few hours in the afternoon and head out again for dinner.

The hotel gives you permission to slow Venice down a little.

WHAT ARE THE BEST ROOMS FOR FAMILIES?

Palladio has several categories worth looking at closely because the 45 rooms and suites are spread across different buildings and can have very different outlooks.

For a family of four, the two-bedroom suites are particularly compelling. They’re enormous by Venice standards, at roughly 177 to 184 square meters, with two ensuite bedrooms, a living and dining area and a kitchen.

For a family of up to six, Villa Mason is the dream option. It has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, its own garden and a private swimming pool.

There are also suites with views toward St. Mark’s, garden-facing rooms and connecting possibilities, so I wouldn’t book Palladio based on room name alone. The exact location within the hotel matters.

WHAT’S THE FOOD LIKE AT AIRELLES PALLADIO?

Airelles went very big here.

The hotel’s culinary lineup includes Matsuhisa by Nobu, abc kitchens by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Villa Frollo by Norbert Niederkofler and desserts and experiences from Cédric Grolet.

That gives Palladio another advantage for families. You don’t necessarily have to mobilize everyone and cross Venice every time you want an excellent meal.

Some nights, staying at the hotel may be exactly what everyone wants.

WHY I BOOK AIRELLES PALLADIO FOR CLIENTS

Palladio is a new hotel, and this is exactly when I think relationships matter most.

Because rooms are spread across different buildings and have different views, layouts and configurations, I want to understand what actually matters to your family first. Maybe that’s being close to the pool. Maybe it’s a St. Mark’s view. Maybe you need connecting rooms or a true two-bedroom setup.

I also work with the team before arrival so they know who’s coming, whether you’re celebrating something and anything else that could make the stay feel more personal.

At a hotel with this many moving parts, the details matter.

IS AIRELLES PALLADIO WORTH IT?

I think Palladio makes the most sense for travelers who want Venice without feeling like every waking hour of the trip needs to be spent sightseeing.

If you’re going to leave the hotel first thing every morning and come back at midnight, you can stay somewhere simpler and more central.

But if your ideal Venice trip includes St. Mark’s in the morning, a long lunch, the kids swimming in the afternoon, a Guerlain treatment and another boat ride into the city when everyone is rested again, this is a very interesting hotel.

Especially for families.
