The Maybourne Beverly Hills With Kids: One of the Best Luxury Family Hotels in Beverly Hills
I recently stayed at The Maybourne Beverly Hills with my three kids on one last trip of the summer, and I came away thinking it may be one of the best luxury hotels in Beverly Hills for families.
For West Coast families, Beverly Hills is an easy getaway. You can keep the trip simple, stay somewhere genuinely luxurious, walk to restaurants and shopping, and still have a pool and enough space to make the trip feel relaxing rather than logistically complicated.
That was exactly what I wanted.
I already love the Maybourne group, which includes Claridge’s and The Connaught in London, but I had never stayed at their only U.S. property. What surprised me most was how different Beverly Hills feels from its London siblings.
It is livelier, more social and much more casual.
And it is a really, really good family hotel.
Most importantly, it solves one of the biggest problems I encounter when booking luxury hotels for families: where do you put everyone?
Why We Chose The Maybourne Beverly Hills
One of the biggest reasons I chose The Maybourne is that they actively cater to families.
Their A Family Story offer gives families a second room, connecting or close by, at 50% off on qualifying stays.
For families who need two rooms, that can completely change which accommodations make sense.
Instead of squeezing everyone into one room or immediately jumping to a very expensive multi-bedroom suite, parents can have privacy while the kids are directly next door.

Our Connecting Rooms at The Maybourne
We stayed in a Terrace Suite connecting to a Balcony Two Queen Room for my kids.
It was a fantastic setup.
The Terrace Suite is approximately 1,080 square feet, with a king bedroom, separate living space, large marble bathroom, walk-in closet and a substantial furnished terrace. The connecting Balcony Two Queen Room is another 520 square feet, sleeps up to four and has its own balcony and bathroom.
Together, we had roughly 1,600 square feet.
Our Terrace Suite was around $2,700 per night, while the kids’ room would normally have been approximately $1,145 per night. With the family offer, the second room was about $572 per night.
This is exactly why I like the offer.
The rooms themselves are contemporary and fairly restrained, with large bathrooms, excellent closets, balconies or terraces in many categories, and plenty of art books and interesting pieces throughout.
One very small but very appreciated detail: soft drinks in the minibar are complimentary.
As someone traveling with three children, I am always delighted when a Diet Coke does not require signing a $14 minibar receipt.
The Maybourne Is Family-Friendly Without Feeling Like a Family Hotel
This is an important distinction.
There were plenty of families at The Maybourne during our stay, particularly around the rooftop pool, but the hotel never felt dominated by children.
The clientele was incredibly international. We heard French, Spanish and English constantly. There were executives having meetings, couples, entertainment-industry guests, families and many obvious regulars.
It felt sophisticated and social, but never particularly formal.
My kids were warmly welcomed, and more than one other guest complimented me on how well behaved they were, so obviously I now have nothing but excellent things to say about the Maybourne clientele.
For parents who still care very much about where they stay, this is the sweet spot.
You are staying at a hotel you would happily choose for an adults-only weekend, but your children do not feel like unwelcome interlopers.
Which Rooms Should Families Book at The Maybourne Beverly Hills?
The Maybourne has unusually good room inventory for families, and you do not necessarily need to jump straight into a suite, and every room has a soaking tub plus separate shower.
Superior rooms start around 435 square feet, while Deluxe and Balcony Rooms are approximately 520 square feet. Families with two children should particularly look at the Balcony Two Queen and Terrace Two Queen categories, which sleep four and give you private outdoor space.
From there, the suites get large quickly. The Terrace Studio Suite is around 670 square feet, the Library Suite 875 square feet, the Rodeo Suite 1,035 square feet and the Terrace Suite, where I stayed, approximately 1,080 square feet.
There are also dedicated two-bedroom suite configurations as well as much larger signature suites and three-bedroom Maybourne Residences.
Most importantly, many categories have connecting-room options. For families who want separate bedrooms, I would compare the cost of a connecting setup using the A Family Story offer against the hotel's two-bedroom suites rather than assuming one is automatically the better choice.
Every guest room also has a soaking tub and separate shower, which I consider a major plus with younger children.
The Service Was Exceptional
This was probably my favorite part of the stay.
The hotel was busy, but we never felt anonymous.
People regularly greeted us by name. Staff remembered details about our trip and checked in with the kids naturally.
My son also lost a tooth at the rooftop pool.
Somehow the staff heard about it.
Later, we returned to our room to find a handwritten card, treats, a stuffed animal and a special little box where he could keep his tooth for the Tooth Fairy.
That is the type of luxury-hotel service I remember.
It was thoughtful without being performative.
Housekeeping was excellent too. Both housekeeping and turndown seemed to happen invisibly. We would leave, come back and everything was reset without ever feeling like we were coordinating our day around when someone needed access to the room.
For me, that is one of the best signs of a well-run luxury hotel.
The Rooftop Pool
If you are looking for a sprawling Southern California resort pool, this is not it.
The Maybourne is a city hotel, and the pool reflects that.
But I love that it has one.
The rooftop pool gives families somewhere to come back to after shopping, sightseeing or lunch around Beverly Hills.
The pool was quite busy during our summer stay, and this was the one place where service occasionally slowed down. Food and drinks could take a while when the deck was full.
I would not choose The Maybourne because of the pool.
But when comparing luxury hotels in Beverly Hills for a family trip, having it absolutely moves the hotel up my list.
Dining at The Maybourne Beverly Hills
We ate at Dante Beverly Hills on the rooftop and The Terrace overlooking Beverly Cañon Gardens.
Dante was a huge hit with my kids.
The pizzas were excellent, and the kids’ menu was legitimately good rather than something created as an afterthought.
Breakfast at The Terrace was probably my favorite meal.
The restaurant opens toward Beverly Cañon Gardens and feels almost like a European piazza. We also ordered several rounds of Claridge’s scones, which means Beverly Hills has now eliminated at least one of my reasons for flying to London.
There are enough dining options at the hotel that you do not need to leave for every meal, but you are also in one of the most walkable parts of Beverly Hills.
Location: One of the Best Parts
The Maybourne sits in Beverly Hills’ Golden Triangle, beside Beverly Cañon Gardens and just a short walk from Rodeo Drive.
This is another reason I like it with kids.
Los Angeles is a city where you can spend an enormous amount of your vacation getting everyone in and out of cars. Here, you can walk out of the hotel for shopping, restaurants and a wander around Beverly Hills without immediately ordering another Uber.
For an easy West Coast family getaway, that matters.
Who The Maybourne Beverly Hills Is Best For
I would particularly recommend The Maybourne for:
Families who need connecting rooms.
Families of four or five who want more space than a standard hotel room.
Parents who want a true luxury hotel rather than a hotel chosen primarily for the kids.
Travelers who want to be able to walk around Beverly Hills.
Families who value a pool but do not need a full resort experience.
Couples and multigenerational families who like a lively, international atmosphere.
Maybourne regulars who want to experience the brand in California.
Who Might Prefer Another Beverly Hills Hotel
The Maybourne is probably not my first choice if you want a hushed, extremely discreet hotel.
It is also not the hotel I would choose if the pool is the main purpose of the vacation or if you are specifically looking for old-school Hollywood nostalgia.
This is a contemporary, active Beverly Hills hotel.
That is part of its appeal.
Is The Maybourne Beverly Hills Good for Families?
Yes. Very.
What impressed me most is that family travel does not feel bolted onto the hotel as an afterthought.
The connecting-room inventory is useful. The rooms are large. The rooftop pool gives kids somewhere to go. The restaurants work for adults and children. The location is easy. And, most importantly, the service made my kids feel genuinely welcomed.
The Maybourne manages to be family-friendly without requiring parents to compromise on the hotel they actually want to stay in.
That is harder to find than it sounds.
For us, it was the perfect way to end the summer with an easy West Coast getaway.
